How it works
Here's how swapping works.
Four steps, no faff. Here's the whole thing.
01 · SNAP
Snap it
Point your camera at the thing you keep meaning to get rid of. It's listed in seconds. No forms to fill in.
02 · MATCH
Find a match
See what people want to swap near you. Fancy someone's stuff? You're halfway there.
03 · OFFER
Offer a swap
Offer one of your things, or a little bundle. You both decide it feels fair. No prices, ever.
04 · MEET / POST
Meet or post
Meet up somewhere public, or post it if that's easier. Make the swap, then rate how it went.
Why swap
Get what you want without paying for it.
Saves you money
No fees, no subscriptions, no prices. You both agree the swap's fair and that's it. Money never comes into it.
Right on your doorstep
Swap with people near you, or post further afield if you'd rather. Meet at the café, the market, wherever suits.
Better for the planet
Every swap is one less thing made and one less thing binned. Good stuff keeps moving instead of going to waste.
Starting in South East London
Launched on our own doorstep.
We're opening small, on purpose, so the people near you are actually near you. Swap in person around South East London today. Anywhere else, swap by post.
Meet somewhere public
The app suggests real public places to meet — stations, libraries, parks, high streets — from over 3,600 across Greater London.
Rate the person, not the thing
After a swap you rate how it went — the person and the meetup. Good swappers build a reputation people can see.
Chat first, then swap
Agree everything in the app before you meet. Confirm the swap when it's done. Questions about safety? safety@swapaya.com
The people behind Swapaya
Two founders bringing product, technology and business together.
Swapaya brought together Antoni's original vision for a swapping marketplace and Digvijay's experience building mobile products. Together, we've taken it from an idea into a working platform and are now focused on proving how swapping can work for real communities.

Digvijay Singh
Co-founder & CTO
Digvijay leads product and engineering at Swapaya. He took the platform from concept to working mobile product, shaping the user experience, architecture and technology behind listing, discovery, matching and swapping.
A University of Greenwich alumnus and experienced mobile engineer, he also works across product strategy and customer validation as Swapaya grows from an early-stage product into a real marketplace.
Antoni originated the idea behind Swapaya and leads its commercial direction, brand and partnerships. His focus is building the relationships and opportunities that can help Swapaya reach communities, validate the model and grow into a sustainable business.
Yes — it's live on iPhone and Android. We're starting in South East London, so that's where you'll find the most to swap nearby. Anywhere else, you can still swap by post with anyone whose item is happy to post.
Is it really free?
Yes. No fees, no subscriptions, no prices. You swap one of your things for one of theirs (or a small bundle). Nobody takes a cut.
Why are you building this?
We kept binning good stuff, then buying it all back. Swapaya is the fix: swap what you don't use for what you do, handed over with a bit of trust. Not another place to buy and shift things. A place to swap.
How do swaps work — in person or by post?
Either. Meet someone nearby and swap face to face, or post it if that's easier. You decide what works for each swap.
Who pays for postage?
You and the other swapper agree that when you arrange the swap — most people just each post their own item to the other. There's no Swapaya fee on top; postage is the only cost, and it's yours to sort between you. If you'd rather not post at all, meet up in person instead.
How do swaps stay safe and fair?
You see photos and chat before you commit to anything, so nothing's a surprise. Meeting in person? The app suggests safe, public places roughly halfway between you, so you're not heading somewhere unfamiliar on your own. Posting instead? Agree the details up front and use tracked delivery. After every swap you rate each other, so the community stays good to swap with — and people who don't play fair don't last.
How can I help shape it?
Tell us what you'd swap first when you join the waitlist — it genuinely shapes what we build and how we launch. You can also follow along on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn to see how it's going.
What if an item arrives damaged, or doesn't turn up?
Swapaya doesn't handle shipping or delivery. Users are responsible for agreeing on how their items are sent and any shipping method they choose. We recommend using tracked delivery and taking photos before sending.
If an issue occurs, you can leave an honest review to help other users. Please note that Swapaya isn't responsible for lost, damaged, or undelivered items. Full details will be available in our Terms & Conditions before launch.
How do I use Swapaya?
Download it free from the App Store or Google Play. Point your camera at something you don't use and it's listed in about ten seconds. Then see what's near you and offer a swap.
